Day 3: DS9, A Man Alone

Show: Star Trek; Deep Space Nine
Episode Particulars: S1EP3, “A Man Alone” (interesting sidenote; apparently this was the second [or third, depending on how you look at it] episode made, but it aired after “Past Prologue”. Even so, I’ll be watching them in the order they were released).

Day 1: DS9, Emissary

Let's just dive right into it, shall we? The first (and longest) show I'll be covering is one of my favorites, a show that combined amazing writing and wonderful actors to produce a show that, by the end, left me transfixed and eager to see what happened next. It's a show that's given me inspiration for some of my own stories, and has pretty much guaranteed I will always be a Trekkie. I speak, of course, of Star Trek; Deep Space Nine.

Show: Star Trek; Deep Space Nine
Episode Particulars: S1EP1, “Emissary”.

Introductions and Explanations

Hello, all! Some of you may have seen me around as a blogger on Livejournal, reviewing movies under the same penname of Allison Tooey. Well, I decided to branch out a bit, and you'll find all the details below.

What this is about

I like to do a lot of long-term projects, both for the challenge and as a way to try new things. Given that I like both writing and movies/TV, this was a natural thing to try.

How this works

Starting today, March 20th (given that it’s the first day of Spring, I thought this was an appropriate starting point), and continuing until March 20th 2018, I will be watching one episode of a (completed) TV show* every day and writing about it here. I’ll be doing my best to look at the episode as a standalone and how it relates to the show as a whole. As a result, there will be spoilers scattered throughout each post, though I’ll try to keep spoilers for upcoming episodes vague. There will also be a special “bonus” discussion of something unique to each show I watch, so while there will be a similar format to each post, there will hopefully be some variety in there.

*To be more specific, I managed to find four TV shows which, when added up, gave me exactly 366 episodes, hence the title of this blog. I won’t tell you which shows, though; I like the element of surprise.

Conduct Request

Any comments I receive for this odd little project are very welcome and encouraging to me. The entire reason I’m posting this to a blog instead of keeping it to a personal Word document is to share and discuss with others, after all. That being said, I would appreciate it if anyone making a comment remained polite, both to me and to other posters. Disagreement and criticism is fine, but nobody wants to read nasty or insulting comments, especially when this is supposed to be fun.

I think that about covers it. Thanks for checking this blog out, and I hope you like it enough to stick around.
